Ann Arbor Show Highlights
by Mike Marotta
The Suburban Detroit Coin Show moved to Ann Arbor in 2009.
The Holiday Inn University North is near the intersection of M-14 and US-23 between I-94 and I-96.

Collectors and dealers come together for the three-day event. "Excuse me" and "Pardon me" being the by-words
as people shuffle past each other to discuss bargains, discounts and premiums.

Steve Stuart and Bob Haires from Michigan Masters Numismatic Services
were on hand to accept coins for certification and to explain their special
presentation holder and conservation methods.

Dealer Harold Borden of Sarnia talked with MSNS Board Member
Julie Wostyn about Fractional Currency, a new area of interest
for Julie. Harold also brought Michigan obsoletes and was
looking for mining company paper.

the MSNS table that was donated by the show sponsor,

for this show, a $27 value for their $10 dues.

Two of the guests stop at Brian Friedland's Wholesale Supply
specializing in the books that make the collectibles important.

Dealers Chuck Sharpe and Fred Beksa stop their work for the
camera. Also at the show were David Nazzaro, Eldert Bontikoe,
Abbott's, Larry Delia, Rich Parsons, Larry Comer, Martha and Ron
Gammill, and about 20 others.

This year, the show was held at the Holiday Inn, Ann Arbor, on
Plymouth Road, right off US-23, an uncrowded, yet convenient
suburban location.
