A message from the President of The Michigan State Numismatic Association
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE RE: Fall 2023 MSNS Security Breach Monday, November 20th, 2023 |
On Saturday evening, I was informed that a breach of security had occurred. Unfortunately, a Dealer was allowed access to the Bourse floor unescorted after hours to retrieve his medication.
While on the Bourse floor he was approached by Security and asked who he was and why he was on the Bourse floor.
Upon learning of this security breach, I immediately conducted an investigation to determine what specifically occurred and more importantly why it occurred. Although, the Security Team utilized for this Fall 2023 MSNS Convention has been providing security services for MSNS' conventions for decades without incident, the aforementioned security breach was and is unacceptable. After our investigation was concluded, security protocols were reviewed, and immediate corrective measures were implemented by the Bourse Team to ensure this type of security breach never occurs again. Bourse floor and Dealer security is of upmost importance to MSNS and as such MSNS will continue to be vigilant to ensure the highest security standards are maintained.
